Well. I think this is the best place for me to review what I've read, Leslie. =) Basically the latest Off the Edge is about how our young women politicians fare after a year had passed. They featured them exactly last year after they've triumphed the general elections.
These brave and revolutionary women include Hannah Yeoh, Subang Jaya ADUN; Nurul Izzah Anwar, Lembah pantai MP and Jenice Lee, Teratai ADUN. They are all new and fresh faces in the political arena, armed with steel determination in bringing changes and to promote social justice. This is what they preached during the last elections lah.
So, the magazine is trying to investigate whether these women had practice whatever they've preached a year before. basically, they are doing their utmost best in keeping their promises alive. Things are easier for the two ADUNs tho as they are part of the government but not Izzah as whenever she's trying to bring something new or do her job, restrain from the majority winning party in the Parliament, (don't want to mention, bahaya, haha) makes it difficult for her to implement such planned activities. Double standards, if you read the article in detail. =P
So basically that's it lah. It's good, you see to have dynamic and energetic new generations helming our administrations. So at least there's changes lah. The government will be more accountable, transparent and people-oriented.
Disclaimer: This is my own private opinion and it's purely academic. Hahahaha.
Moving on. Last two days, on Monday, I went to Shah Alam. First, to do some reserach for my upcoming LAWAsia. and secondly, juz to hang out with the bunch; Hafiz, Nash and Mior. It's been a while though. Haha.
After sending Aina to school, i leisurely drove down to the library and met Hafiz. Flipped through the papers before leaving to Cempaka 3 for abrief chat with Widee and co. Haha. Lame tak sembang2 ngan Widee. Rindu. =P Saw Miss Liza there. Suddenly terus pucat. Teringat my torts! I waved at her hoping that she could read my facial expression which can be literally translated to: "Please don't fail my torts!" =P
We had a good lunch at Sect. 6 later on before moving to the highlight of the day. Helping them pindahkan their stuff from Sect. 8 to their new house in Sect. 2! It took us a couple of hours but it's worth it. It was tiring but fun. At least i got the chance to experience Mior's driving skill. I give you 3 1/2 out of 5! hahaha. Way to go!
So after maghrib and much unpacking of stuffs, we headed down to Pak Su Kopitiam for dinner, only after a 15 minutes of heated discussion. =) and the best part is...! my dinner was F.O.C! Thanks Nash, Hafiz, Mior! I was planning to call it a day and head back to Subang after sending them back to Sect. 2 but I end up tido kat umah diorang.
We woke up quite late the next day as the tempation to continue sleeping in ain air-coned room is very hard to resist! *wink*
Haruslah kalau nak rasa macam kat London kite melepak kat umah korang, kan piz?
